Brief introduction of Huadu base

     The Guangzhou agricultural research institute is the only agricultural institute directly under the Guangzhou Municipal Government.Huadu base is a high standard, multi-functions, compound base of breeding, scientific research demonstration, agricultural training, displaying new variety and new technical promotion. It locates Gaoxi village,Huadong town,Huadu district and constructs in 2001 with area of 400mu. Now it has 5 peopleof technicians,70 people ofproduction andadministrative personnel. The base completely finished the irrigation and drainage with hard ground and road system. The base includes 1200 square meters of agricultural product manufacturing place, 300 mu of automatically spraying system, 8460 square meters of Havelock System and more than 70 mu of green houses withhigh, middle and low grade .

     Huadu base is a production base of non- environmental agricultural product authorized by the Guangdong Provincial agricultural department. it mainly plants various famous and special vegetables such as Dutch pepper, Japanese cucumber, squash, cherry tomato, okra and other varieties. The improved varieties of vegetable, corn and paddy bred by our institute are not only selling in local market, but also exporting to Canada, Singapore and Hong kong. Through this way ,we obtained a higher economic efficiency.

     Huadu base is a base for breeding and researching of fine varieties of our institute. It is mainly engaged in breeding seeds of bean, solanaceous plant and corns. Every year our base breeds improved seeds above 100000kg. It will meet the demand of seeds of Huadu area andothers and obtain good social benefit.
